(formerly STAT-3210) This course is an introduction to the theoretical basis of statistics for students who have completed Introductory Statistics. The study concentrates on the mathematical tools required to develop statistical methodology. Topics covered include: probability, continuous and discrete random variables, moment generating functions, multivariate probability distributions and functions of random variables.
