This course is an introduction to the major living religions of the East: Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Confucianism, Taoism, Shinto, and Sikhism. Attention is directed to the ways in which each defines and promotes human fulfilment. Various audio-visual materials complement the video lectures to convey an awareness of the spiritual and cultural dimensions of religion. Three hours a week NOTE: Credit will not be permitted if a student has already received credit for RS 1050.
