This course will take an occupational biomechanics approach to ergonomics. This course will emphasize the knowledge and skills required to perform biomechanical analyses of workplace tasks, identify occupational ergonomic issues and use ergonomic assessment tools to modify physical demands to prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs). Interdisciplinary approaches to human factors, the study of human-machine interfaces, will also be discussed.
