This course covers the history of Adolf Hitler's Third Reich (1933-1945) from the origins of the Nazi Party during the Weimar Republic (1919-1933) to the post-World War II trials of German war criminals. Topics include Hitler's life and career, the Nazi Party's electoral success, the causes and course of World War II from the German perspective, the Holocaust, and the relations between the churches and the Nazi regime.
