Specific moral issues of contemporary concern such as abortion, euthanasia, capital punishment, animal rights, environmental ethics, terrorism, pornography, prostitution, and welfare form the basic content of the course. Although some basic ethical theory is discussed, the course's primary concern is with applied ethics (as opposed to ethical theory as taught in Philosophy 3030). Students learn to distinguish justifiable ethical arguments from those more problematic. Lectures: Three hours a week. 11-01-2022-07-04-2022 Lecture Tuesday, Thursday 01:00PM - 02:15PM, McDougall Hall, Room 243
