This course is a clinical rotation in the Farm Service section of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. This rotation emphasizes procedures and techniques for the prevention and control of diseases of swine, beef and dairy cattle and small ruminants necessary for food animal practice, including diagnostic techniques, administration of medications through various routes, and health management assessment (rectal palpation). Students participate, with faculty supervision, in the practice of clinical veterinary medicine, and are exposed to the principles of health management of herds and flocks. Three weeks in duration.
