This elective course reviews bovine mastitis prevention and control and issues related to milk quality. Topics include herd investigation of mastitis and udder health, management of clinical and subclinical mastitis at the herd level, laboratory testing procedures for evaluation of milk quality, evaluation of milk quality records for trouble shooting of herd problems, and implications of milk quality for the dairy industry. Five-week module with three hours of lecture per week.
