This course is an introductory survey of Indigenous literature on Turtle Island. Beginning with a brief examination of the period commonly referred to as Native Literary Renaissance, followed by an exploration of modern literature of wide variety from Indigenous authors, in the twenty-first century. The course is designed to introduce storytelling rooted in Indigenous perspectives and various cultures’ traditions of a diverse array of First Nations, Métis and Inuit authorships, in addition to a critical analysis of recent works which have reached a non-Indigenous, non-academic, mainstream literary audience.

The purpose of this course is to provide an introductory foundation in core concepts and skills of short term psychotherapy work and will include the essential models of brief psychotherapy, including critical issues essential to brief therapy.
Review of brief models of motivational interviewing, cognitive therapy, behaviour therapy, solution focused therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy and dynamic psychotherapy will be included. The role of medication in brief therapy will also be examined. Other modern therapies like internet based brief psychotherapy and Tele Psychiatry will also be covered.

Students’ will role practice brief models and be engaged on skill development in a case-oriented learning style including experiential training. The course will examine the influence of culture and remain sensitive to the unique differences among people while using the various modalities.

The course takes place each Wednesday 1:30pm - 4:20pm at Room 104 Memorial Hall.

This course builds on knowledge acquired in Digital imaging 2420 and Radiographic Physics 2310. This course further explores the x-ray tube and circuitry and their relationships to automatic exposure controls and digital imaging receptors including digital fluoroscopy, mammography, nuclear medicine, Ultrasonography, and Bone Mineral Densitometry. A brief overview of SPECT, PET, MRI and hybrid imaging is also covered.
