This course introduces the fundamental principles of anesthesia and anesthetic management with broad species applications. Pain management strategies are also emphasized. 1.5 hours of lecture per week. 03-01-2023-03-05-2023

This course teaches basic principles and techniques used in veterinary epidemiology with a focus on development of quantitative reasoning skills. Two hours of lecture and one hour of laboratory per week. 03-01-2023-03-05-2023

This elective course emphasizes current research on production limiting diseases of cattle. Topics covered are dictated primarily by issues that are current and important to the cattle industry. Five-week module with two hours of lecture per week. Restriction: Student must have third year standing in the DVM program. 03-01-2023-03-02-2023

This course introduces students from a variety of disciplines to the skills and tasks required for effective communication in a professional environment. The course focuses on the following: analytical reports, proposals, descriptions of processes, extended definitions, instructions, business correspondence, memoranda, graphics, presentation of data, and oral presentations. Assignments, designed for the student's particular discipline, emphasize a sound analysis of the goals for each task, and the effective, economical, clear, and correct use of language to achieve these goals.
