UPEI is enabling Moodle’s analytics models. These models do not collect new data, but use existing Moodle records (e.g., activity completion, live logs, etc.) to generate reports or analytic predictions. These analytic reports will be used to offer students opportunities to be connected with various support services at UPEI (e.g.,  UPEI Writing Centre, Academic Counselling, Accessibility Services, etc.).

Moodle analytics data is internal to the institution and is not shared with third parties. The data is accessible to:

  •     Moodle administrators;
  •     Senior Advisor on Strategic Enrolment Management;
  •     Managers in Academic Support Services, Counselling Services and Accessibility Services, Deans, and Associate Deans;
  •     Office of Institutional Research;
  •      UPEI Privacy and Access to Information Office.

Moodle analytics data is stored up to three years before being deleted. You may request a copy of your Moodle data from the Privacy and policies section of your Moodle profile using the Data request link. Questions can be sent to the Moodle Privacy Officer by using the Contact the privacy officer link from the same section on your profile.
